Powerplants conceived in 1994 by myself and my brother David van Loon. We grew up
in a successful plant propagation nursery and could see that there was a need for
technical know-how combined with growing experience in the
supply of greenhouse equipment. I studied Mechanical
Engineering at RMIT and then Horticulture at Burnley College and we started the company soon after. With increased competition
and other pressures on growers, the need for technical knowledge and backup is even more vital today.
David van Loon is now running a successful Horticultural Consultancy, specialising in greenhouse project design and management. He can be found through www.highviewhorticultural.com.au
Powerplants is now one of Australia's largest supplier of
horticultural technical systems and continues to strive to
stay abreast of the latest developments in technology that
can improve your business. Our strength is
in our experience and practical knowledge of the industry
combined with the best of local and overseas technology.
